The Little School closing is having a major impact on all Little School families. Young children need a reliable routine that The Little School classes offer. We know our families, too, count on the knowledge that little schoolers are loved and cared for during the school day. Please know that we are doing our very best to make decisions in the best interest of your children. The Little School is a special place, and I’m confident we will each do our part during this especially unprecedented time. There is strength in the power of prayer and am certain we can work together to help one another in the days and weeks ahead.
In the words of Archbishop Carlson: “May the Heavenly Father continue to pour forth His love, strength, and protection upon us as we move through the challenges and uncertainty brought about by COVID-19. Mary, Health of the Sick and our Mother, pray for us.”
I will provide more details as they become available.

SPECIAL THANKS to Co-Chairpersons Emily Brungardt and Erica Fridlin who spent endless hours planning The Little School 500 Mouse Race Event. Thank you also to the parents who attended the planning meetings and those who helped behind the scenes. The atmosphere of the evening was exciting and provided the perfect opportunity to interact and enjoy camaraderie with others. We extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed by your presence and financial support. We couldn’t have done it without you! All money raised from the Mouse Race Fundraising Event will go towards the new JoAnn Lavrich Memorial Playground right outside the doors to The Little School classrooms. If you’d like to make a donation for the new playground please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Some of The Little School teachers participated in a workshop Wednesday evening at Powell Hall. It was our turn to be preschoolers, marching, crawling, swaying to music, playing instruments, and participating in parachute play using the story The Tortoise and The Hare. We discovered ways to incorporate music into the classroom by participating in lesson plans that emphasize creating and exploring music through the framework of current early childhood curricula.
www.sweetbabies.org MANY THANKS to everyone who sent donations for the “SWEET BABIES” program at St. Mary’s Hospital. They were amazed and very appreciative to see so many items for the newborn babies. Below is a letter from the coordinator and Sweet Babies volunteers.
There is still room in the 4-5’s Friday STEAM class (9:00-11:45am) AND Friday Enrichment (11:45am-2:30/2:55pm) open to 3-4’s and 4-5’s. Please let us know if you would like to enroll in either or both of these programs.
We celebrated 25 years of Catholic Early Childhood Education at Ascension Parish on Sunday, September 8 with the Bubble Bus, a Balloon Artist, Face Painting, Games, Ice Cream and Bomb Pops. The weather cooperated to make it a wonderful event. Thank you to all who attended.
